Our sister in Christ, Dorothy Guenterberg, has joined the saints in Heaven. The Lord called Dorothy Guenterberg home to heaven last evening (Tuesday) around 7 p.m. She was at her daughter's, Barb Quill, under hospice care. The funeral arrangements are as follows: VISITATION: Saturday, August 24th (this Saturday) at St. John's, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. FUNERAL: will follow at 1 p.m. FUNERAL DINNER will be held immediately after the funeral COMMITTAL: will follow after the funeral luncheon, around 3 p.m. Obituary will be able to be seen at Pagenkopf's web-site: https://www.pagenkopf.com ______________________________________________________________
Vacation Bible School starts this week at St Mark’s: Monday thru Thursday from 6 to 8 pm. St John’s starts Monday Aug 5th thru Thurs, Aug 8th from 6 to8 pm. Please preregister on the sign up sheets in church. Donations are being sought for VBS. Snacks, fruit, baked goods, drinks, etc. would be greatly appreciated. Craft supplies such as markers, crayons, glue sticks, etc. are also needed.
Please join us on Sunday for worship and a cookout. Worship is at 10 am followed by the cookout/picnic. Bring a dish to pass if you like.
Midweek worship is this Thursday night at St Mark's Sugar Island at 6:30 pm.
St Mark's has the Memorial Day Service this year at the Ashippun Fireman's Park on Sunday, May 26th at 9 am. The address is W2665 Oak Street, Ashippun, just West of Highway 67 on County Road O.
The Mother Daughter Banquet this year is on Monday, May 13th. It will be presented by Katie Luther, wife of Martin Luther, who was wed on June 13th, 1525. She will share with us some interesting things that were a part of her work as wife of the Reformer. We will then share a catered German dinner consisting of Kassler Rippchen (smoked pork chop), German sausages, mashed potatoes & gravy, hot German potato salad, red cabbage, sauerkraut, bread dumpling, and some of Martin Luther's favorite desserts! Cost for the dinner will be $10 per person with children at 1/2 price. Please sign up in church on the sheet provided.
Mission Festival is this Sunday, May 5th at St John's. We will be joined by Pastor Joel Gaertner who will present the work that Jesus Cares Ministry has been doing in our area and around the country. We will be having a fried chicken and potluck lunch at noon after his presentation. Any side dishes, salads, or desserts would be appreciated.
Thursday evening worship has returned to St John's. Please join us at 6:30 pm. The service will switch over to St Mark's Sugar Island on May 23.

(Matthew 18:20) I know that every time my congregation gathers for worship, you are there. I want to thank you, Lord, for this group of believers of which I am a part. Thank you for my pastor, for those who teach, and those who serve our congregation in positions of authority. May their work be a blessing and not a burden. I also pray that all who hold membership may recommit themselves to be faithful in worship and that we might collectively use our time, talents, and treasures for your glory and our good. Because of the severe ice in the parking lot at St Marks, they will be using St Johns for their 8:00 am Bible class and 8:30 church service. Anyone is welcome to join us! St John will have their service and Bible class as usual.
